Hoverboard Laws

Hoverboards have become quite the rage nowadays; however this trend brings new laws. The laws states that a user must be at least 16 years old, wear a helmet, and only go on roads that have a speed limit of 35 mph or less. If a rider wants to listen to music while operating a hoverboard, they can only have one earbud in.

You can buy hoverboards online at sites like Amazon or the brand websites that make them like Razor or IO Hawk. Stores like Target and Walmart took the hoverboards of the shelves because of safety concerns such as that the hoverboard could catch fire while riding it or charging it. Most public places like school grounds, as well as some airlines, don’t allow the use of hoverboards on their property.

When asked about his hoverboard, RHS sophomore Jeremy Ford said he uses it, ”4 times a week,” and that it was about $240.
