The first nominee is Elijah Calderin (10) He is a JV football player who shows sportsmanship not only to teammates but to the opposing team. Eli might not be one of the captains that goes out for the coin toss, but it is evident that his teammates look up to him and rally behind him because of the person he is. He works hard in practice, he’s coachable, and he’s not afraid to keep his teammates accountable. We have et to have had any incidents with him in the school building and don’t anticipate to have any issues.
Congratulations Elijah! Your work in practice does not go unnoticed and what you put into practice you get on the football field and it was evident in your play last week. Keep it up!
The sceond nominee is Addison Hewson (11) She is a JV cross country.Addison shows so many qualities that an athlete should have. She works harder than anyone I have ever coached, always cheers and supports her teammates, helps the coaches at meets she is unable to participate in and is just an all around great person and athlete. She recently ran in RVA Relays and even though she wasn’t feeling her best, fought through and finished! Addison started running with the Ospreys in Middle School. She continued her running career in High School. Addi has many health issues(MS being one)that she deals with that put her at a great disadvantage, but she never complains and shows up every day with a smile on her face.
Congratulations Addi!! Keep that fighting spirit!
