Our seniors are finally going off to college to become successful college freshmen. There are hundreds of majors they can take in college and it can be overwhelming to choose one.  According to the Princeton Review, some popular majors across the United States  are  Business Administration and Management, Psychology, Nursing, Biology, English, Communication Studies, and Education. Many seniors at Riverbend are choosing to major in Nursing, Biology, Business, and Sports Medicine.

Senior Exstacy Perkins is majoring in Business, “I want to be an entrepreneur. I want to start my own business. I feel like that’s easier than working the typical 9-5 for the rest of my life. Of course, I’ll have to work harder than many people in the beginning, but in the end, I’ll have time to actually enjoy the money I make.”

Senior Leslie Highlander said, “I want to major in Nursing because I like to help people.  I also want to be an ICU (Intensive Care Unite) nurse.”

Senior Gabren Webb said, “I want to major in Psychology because I want to discover the complexity of the human mind.”

Senior Lizzie Rakestraw said, “I want to major in Education because I want to be an elementary school teacher. I love working with kids!”

Senior Ashley Vines said, “I want to major in Biology because I want to do something in the medical field to help people.”

Senior Lauren Lewis said, “I’m majoring in Biology and Communications to become a weather forecaster. Communications is an expanding field, and it will help me to become a successful weather woman.”

Senior Nicole Doulgass is majoring in Sports Medicine. She said, “I want to be an athletic trainer for the NFL. That’s my goal! I like [athletic] training for high school because I love sports, and I’ve been around them since I was little. Majoring in it will be awesome.”
