Riverbend’s FFA competed at the Central Area Spring Rally, Friday April 11, and many team members placed and will be moving on to states in June at Virginia Tech. The teams moving on to states include:

Junior Hippology:  1^st Place                                                                                                                                                   Catherine Walls, Emily Wollenburg, Annie Pond and Libby Ziemer

Senior Hippology:  2^nd Place

Maddie Boyer, Michelle Smith, Sierra Gaskamp and Bobby Dunlap

Veterinary Science:1^st Place

Sean Connolly, Stefani Scianna, Taylor Gilley and Laura Fullmer

Junior Maddie Boyer has been a part of FFA for three years now. “This weekend my team and I competed in Hippology which basically means we answered questions about horse,” said Boyer. Her partner, Junior Michelle Smith, competed alongside Boyer for three years and is very excited for states. “FFA allows me to spend time learning about what I love and my team mates make it all so fun,” said Smith, “I’m really looking forward to Tech and hopefully winning something.”

Wish these teams luck as they travel to Virginia Tech on June 23-26 to compete state wide. Hopefully they will make Riverbend proud.
