Bend Golf

Riverbend Golf has started and the team is off and running with the Conference 4 championship win at Fawn Lake. The team has a bunch of new members joined this season. The golfers that will show them the ropes and mentor them while they’re practicing and at the tournaments are the leaders of the team. The captains this year are Senior Josh Kennison, Jake Miles, and Matt Dieters.

They are really looking forward to improving on last year’s season. They had a pretty successful season last year coming third in states. Assistant Coach Mr. Jackson said, “Our goal is to win the conference, win at regionals, and qualify for states.” Senior Jake Miles said, “Me personally, I want to make First Team All-State this year.” The team and the individuals both have goals they want to achieve year.

The team prepared for this season way before it started. They have been working on their game, and some have showcased their skills in front of coaches and scouts. Many of the veterans guys have been in amateur tournaments this summer to help the college recruiting process. The team also had open range time at Fawn Lake, which is where players can come and practice their skills on a course that isn’t far away from where they live. The team is working hard and showing success.
