Boys Tennis
Riverbend High School’s boys tennis team have worked and fought hard for all their wins. Over the past couple of years Riverbend’s boys tennis team have had success in their games. Back in 2011, the bears went undefeated and swept the commonwealth district. The 2016-2017 boys tennis team had a rough start despite having nearly all returning players. They quickly learned what their best strategy was in their games and acquired a seven game winning streak. The boys ended their regular season with a record of 9-3 and went 5-0 in conference. The team is scheduled to play two more games, one on Monday, May 15, 2017 and one on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
Matthew Bakerian, a junior at Riverbend and current tennis player commented, “I believe that we have done a good job this year as a whole team. Over the last few years that I have been on the team I have felt more of us working and acting like a team. I feel like that has definitely helped us move forward and communicate and understand each other better.”
Senior Thomas Brooks added, “It feels good to have just beat Forge, our biggest rival. Hopefully we can use that momentum and win the Conference 4, which I definitely think we deserve.”
