Girls Varsity Soccer
The girls’ soccer season has gone well, with a record of 10-2-1 (of printing), with Mountain View being their largest competition. Elizabeth Hummel, junior who plays on the varsity team, said, “The team is equally strong this year compared to last, but freshman year the team was really young.” Hummel has been playing soccer since her freshman year as a center midfielder and forward. This year her team goal was to make it to the 2nd round of regionals. Madison Burns, senior goalkeeper, said, “My team goal was to build a team environment, but personally I want to work on my decision making.”
This year, the Junior Varsity soccer team was cut mid season due to not having enough players, leaving only a Varsity team. Some JV girls were pulled up and offered a position on varsity. This created a stronger, larger varsity team.
Recruiters have talked to the girls, and some are hoping to play in college. The girls have two regular season games to play the week of May 15th, and are hoping to win conference. Last year, they were Conference 4 Champions and want to go even higher this year in their competition. Conference week starts May 23rd, and the girls competitors are still undecided yet.
