Ho Ho Hope

Every year since Riverbend opened, they have adopted over “100 families” for a Holiday Hope Tree. When the school takes on the 100 families they have to give all the tags away, and if they have extras usually a teacher or administration will take them. We have never had a problem with not adopting out all the families. Each name of a needy family is placed on an ornament and put onto the tree; on the card are the size of clothes the kid wears and what they would like for Christmas. Most children ask for toys, but some parents ask for home goods or clothes. The tree is located in the guidance office, if you would like to help a family, just ask anyone in the office at that time! Freshman Marrisa Clay says, “When she adopted her family it was so much fun shopping for them, and helping a family in need.” Helping a less fortunate family during the holidays.
