Duck Donuts, a North Carolina franchise, has opened its first store in Fredericksburg.  This is the 13th location in Virginia, and people are very excited to have one so close.  Maddy Slunt, sophomore, said, “I like Duck Donuts because they are the best tasting donuts I’ve had.  They are always something I look forward to getting when I go to the beach in North Carolina.  The only bad thing might be that I won’t like them as much because I will have them more often.”

Duck Donuts is known for their donuts made fresh on the spot and topped with a variety of frostings and sprinkles.  At this donut shop, the dough goes in the fryer, and you choose a coating, a topping, and a drizzle to complete your donut.  Duck Donuts prices vary on what you get and can get a little pricey.  People seem to buy them no matter the price.  Some of the other donut places in Fredericksburg include Sugar Shack, Dunkin Donuts, and Krispy Kreme.  Slunt said, “Duck Donuts is now the hands down best place to get donuts here.  My favorite donuts are the vanilla, Oreo, and caramel drizzle.”

Zoe Dario, freshman, said, “I went to the new Duck Donuts, and it was delicious!  I love how all of the donuts are made just how you want them.  They never disappoint.  I can’t wait to try all the flavors, and I might even try the maple and bacon donut.”

Duck Donuts has donuts that impress, but they also make coffee and assorted drinks to pair with your sweet treat.  Duck Donuts seems to be a big hit in Fredericksburg, and their success may encourage even more store openings around the state and maybe even the country.
