This past Friday Riverbend football took to the field for the yearly Pink Out Homecoming Game. Going against the Bears’ 6-0 record was the Colonial Forge Eagles, with a previous record of 7-0.
Anticipation for the game was high, with both schools being highly successful so far this season. Bend ended the night with a 7-0 win, beating Forge 41-27.
At the conclusion of the game, Bend students and families energetically stormed the field to congratulate our Bears on their hard fought win.
While football is the reason for the occasion, the Pink Out game is special for so many reasons. Homecoming week is, arguably, the most lively and school spirit filled week of the year. And the game is a particularly popular event that brings the student body together.
While there’s many things about the game to be excited about, one of the most notable is the way people get dressed up. The stands of the game looks like a cloud of pink featuring tutus, wigs, decorated signs, and all pink outfits.
But other than the outfits, the game is also an amazing opportunity to see all your friends in one place, and also meet new people.
