On the night of October 16th, the Bears came together for Riverbend’s annual homecoming bonfire. The night was kicked off by the lighting of the bonfire and thanks to the band, students were able to enjoy music all throughout the night. The whole night was filled with fun activities and enjoyable moments.
Students enjoyed themselves dancing along to the music, chatting with friends, and eating delicious food. They also played friendly games of soccer throughout the night. The cheerleaders and the band helped put everyone in the school spirit mood with their amazing performances.
To really kick off the night and to signify the Bears inevitable win against Forge, our biggest rivals, students threw a football into the fire with Forge written across. This tradition helps get students excited before the big homecoming game.
Senior, Carina Trotta says, “It brings everyone together and gets us hyped before the pep rally.” Trotta has attended the bonfire every year since she has been in high school and enjoys getting to dance and hang out with friends.
Sophomore, Julia Often says this is an important tradition because the bonfire really kicks off homecoming week and it “gets everyone hyped for homecoming.”
Freshman, Charlotte Foster says her favorite part of the bonfire is hanging out with her friends around the fire. She thinks it’s important for students to go so they can socialize and meet new people. She also really enjoyed playing volleyball with her friends.
The night was really one to remember as it brought everyone together and allowed the students to relax and enjoy homecoming week. It’s a really important tradition that Bears get to take part in every year.
